AFTER the centenary celebrations of Darwen Tower, I waited all week for some real show in the Lancashire Evening Telegraph of what took place in Darwen.

It is really disgusting that a few bits and pictures were shown when the celebrations were for a Tower that has stood on the Moor for 100 years.

Thousands of people went up there and to have photographed all of them would have made the Telegraph worth looking at. I've climbed the hill many times and always feel proud of it and what it represented.

I think you have been very shabby indeed sending photographers up there and then using just a few pictures. It should have been a whole centre-spread of pictures.

Surely, some of Darwen's pride should have been honoured. But Darwen has really had a bad lot since joining up with Blackburn. How can you repay Darwen now? It is too late.
