A £610,000 highways improvement package aims to put the poorest area of Burnley on the road to a better future.
Council chiefs aim to boost the Daneshouse area with a £3.1 million housing renewal programme.
But they say the need for better access and parking in the district will also play a vital part in providing a major facelift for the ward.
And next week they will unveil plans to create safer roads for residents and firms.
Engineers have put together the package of proposed works over the next three years, to improve access to the Elm Street area, slow traffic down and provide some off-street parking.
And now they want local people to see the plans and voice their views.
The planned improvements include a new roundabout at the junction with Colne Road and Hebrew Road, the realignment of Hebrew Road, Abel Street, Old Hall Street and Elm Street to make access for commercial vehicles easier, and better sign-posting.
