A CAT cut off the electricity to thousands of homes throughout East Lancashire.
It found its way into an electricity sub-station at Clayton-le-Moors and was blasted by 33,000 volts as it climbed near switches - and lived. But it was so badly hurt it had to be put down later.
The supply to 8,000 houses and factories was cut off and Norweb launched an emergency operation to restore power.
