THE spotlight will shine on a group of youngsters tomorrow when a television crew takes over their school.
The makers of Channel 4 programme Collector's Lot will be at Benjamin Hargreaves CE Primary, Accrington, to speak to the pupils about their project on Accrington Pals.
Several youngsters will be interviewed and others will recite excerpts of their own poetry.
Pupils in last year's top class completed a historical research project on the Pals - the tragic battalion of soldiers from the region who fought in the Battle of the Somme in 1916. The children collected artefacts and memorabilia, studied the history of the Pals and created a large display in the school.
They appeared in the Lancashire Evening Telegraph, in Lancashire Life magazine and on local radio.
The display had been put away until last week when head teacher Daphne Durham received a letter from Channel 4 saying they too had heard about the project and would like to feature the pupils.
Several pupils who completed the project have now left but those who remain will be interviewed.
Mrs Durham said: "We are all very excited and looking forward to the TV crew's arrival.
"The children's work was very imaginative and our exhibition seems to have just grown and grown."
The programme is shown from Mondays to Thursdays at 3.30pm.
The Accrington youngsters are expected to feature in the autumn.
