NEVER heard of them? Surely you must have heard something, after all, wasn't it this superb Oxford-based band who dominated the Glastonbury Festival just a couple of weeks ago?
And this new album is destined - unless Oasis know something they don't - to become the best seller of 1997. OK Computer is a beautiful mix of mellow cool and precise, progressive rock. I read a review elsewhere which said Radiohead took rock music onto an altogether higher plane.
I can't argue with that. My reaction on first hearing the album was something like 'that's the best thing I've heard in years'. Standout tracks are Subterranean Homesick Alien, Karma Police, No Surprises and The Tourist. If you buy this album, let's just say you will not be disappointed. It will become one of the landmark albums of rock music.
