ANN Tattersall's love affair with dishy Damon Hill may be sending her family round the bend, but the Formula One heartthrob really gets her heart racing.
The Sacred Heart Primary School teacher is so infatuated with the reigning world champion that she refuses to allow her daughters to buy clothes from Benetton - because Damon's arch-rival Michael Schumacher once drove for their team.
Now she is set to meet her idol at this weekend's British Grand Prix at Silverstone after winning an ITV competition to find the sport's dishiest driver.
Ann, from Wilpshire, said: "It's all a bit of a joke really, but I've fancied Damon since he burst onto the Formula One scene a couple of years ago and it will be great to meet him.
"My husband, Graham, reckons that I'm an embarrassing middle-aged woman with a crush, while my daughters, Laura and Venessa, think I'm mad. But I've stuck to my guns and still don't allow the girls to shop at Benetton."
Ann's prize includes a two-day pass for the practice sessions and the big race, two nights in a top hotel and a chance to meet the man himself.
She added: "I've never been to a Grand Prix event before but the girls know not to disturb me when it comes on the television. This is a great prize and I'm really looking forward to the weekend."
Ted Kravitz from Mach One, who organised the event, said: "Ann is obviously Damon Hill mad and a real Formula One fan. After reading her amusing entry there was no other winner."
