PRESTON band Blue are battling for a place in the final of BandNation in Sheffield next month.
Blue boasts drummer Mark Whiteside from Ashton, Preston, bass guitarist Peter Brown from Ribbleton, Preston, and singer/guitarist Seamus McLouglin from Whitestake near Preston.
They joined forces last October when they met selling lemonade at Glasgow's T in the Park festival.
Mark and Peter had already worked together in groups Dreamland and Pronoise. When they heard Seamus singing, they signed him up immediately.
A high note for the band came in February when they supported the lead singer of Ocean Colour Scene in a Birmingham concert.
Blue's music is described as "catchy, rocky but not heavy" with an American flavour.
The trio is currently recording a 14-track album and hopes to approach record shops in Preston to sell it to local fans.
The three boys Blue have to impress judges in Blackburn and Burnley to get through to the BandNation final.
