THE Citizen's Brick By Brick appeal for St Catherine's Hospice is gaining support from community leaders all over the county.
A new £1.3 million Day care extension is being built and our appeal will help raise the £250,000 still needed to pay for it.
Last Thursday at the official launch of the day care extension at St Catherine's Hospice, the Mayor of South Ribble pledged her support.
Councillor Brenda Wilson said: "I think it's a wonderful idea. I don't think you can put a value on the work being done here. It's so kind, gentle and dignified the way people are treated here."
Her views were echoed by the Deputy Mayor of Preston, Ron Marshall, whose own father-in-law died in Lancaster hospice.
He urged people to support the Brick by Brick appeal and said the county needed more places like St Catherine's to care for its patients.
Mayoress of Chorley Catherine Hoyle said: "St Catherine's certainly does a fantastic job for the community.
"It's a beautiful place. I hope people will give generously."
Anyone who wants to support the project should call the appeals office on 01772 324540, and call the Citizen newsdesk on 01772 255522/23 with your fund-raising ideas and events.
