HUNDREDS of families in Blackburn were to be asked for blood samples to see if they were at risk from old lead water pipes.
It followed a survey which showed some houses had more than 1,000 times the lead limit for water supplies.
The samples were to be analysed to see if there was a connection between high lead levels in water and lead in blood.
