BURNLEY was to get £1 million of Governnment grants to carry out major improvements in the town.
The announcement was made by Rossendale and Darwen MP David Trippier, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department of the Environment with responsibility for inner cities and urban development.
The cash would be used for economic, environmental, housing and social projects.
