BLADE RUNNERS Karen Barber and Steven Pickavance have joined the bandwagon of entries for a headline grabbing charity walk.
The British Ice Skating champions are among the flood of local people pledged to tackle the Motorway Superwalk '97.
The mammoth fund-raising effort in aid of the East Lancashire SuperScan appeal will take place on the new seven-mile stretch of the M65 on August 31.
The number of people entering Motorway Superwalk '97 has doubled to more than 1,000 in just over a week.
Karen and Steven will be joining 50 children and adults from Blackburn Ice Skating Club which is celebrating its affiliation to the National Ice Skating Association.
The SuperScan appeal is the nominated charity of the club for the second year running and last year raised £200.
Among the unusual entries will be a team from Calderstones Hospital, Whalley, known as the Scott House chums, who will be attemping a hospital bed push.
The 'TS Troops', alias the Temple Street Resource Centre, have also pledged to walk the 14 miles.
They are no strangers to long distance sponsored walking after tackling a gruelling 32-mile hike last year.
Organisers have stressed that there will be limited parking on the day and all walkers have been urged to car share.
To enter the event, send your entry form to the Superwalk hotline at either Burnley General Hospital or Queen's Park Hospital or phone the hotline on 01254 293257; after 5pm on 01254 294754.
