SPECIAL constables are needed to help cut crime in Leigh town centre.
And to fill the gap Greater Manchester Police are looking to recruit men and women between 19 and 50. Their duties will include patrolling the community, dealing with incidents and accidents and, if necessary, making arrests, and duties are fitted into business or personal commitments.
Gareth Walker, Special Constabulary Co-ordinator, said: "As a Special Constable you will have the opportunity to enjoy the variety associated with police work. There is no substitute for working with the public, whatever your occupation, you'll learn more about people, you'll look at life in a different and more fascinating way.
"Most of all you'll discover a lot you didn't know about yourself and your capabilities."
