A 14-year-old schoolgirl was indecently assaulted by a man in a car as she walked home along Mill Lane, Sutton, at about 9pm last Wednesday.
Three men men in a red E-registration Vauxhall Astra, drove by the girl and shouted a number of suggestive comments at her.
She ignored them and carried on, but a few minutes later the car returned and the passenger in the back seat leaned out of the window, grabbed her and indecently assaulted her.
Police would like to talk to anyone who witnessed the incident. DS Don Gordon who is investigating the assault, said: "The lads in the car may have started shouting as a prank and then the back-seat passenger went one step too far. If this was the case we would like to talk to the driver or the front-seat passenger."
The three may have spoken with Liverpool accents and the passenger in the front was wearing a white sports jacket.
ANYONE with information on this incident can contact DS Don Gordon at St Helens police station on 0151 777 6053.
