I HAVE just seen Blackburn's latest monstrosity, masquerading as a work of art outside King George's Hall. It convinces me more than ever that members of the council are living on a different planet. Any light engineering firm could have made this eyesore for a fraction of the cost charged by the so-called artist.
Might I ask the councillors involved in this folly if they are so impressed by the work of the sculptor (I use the term loosely) will they be commissioning him at their expense to demonstrate his skill in their gardens?
