LOCAL aircraft workers are celebrating after the future of the Eurofighter project was secured.
Germany's commitment to the four nation £40 billion project means job security at BAe's Warton and Samlesbury plants - and could lead to extra jobs.
And although Spain and Italy will also be involved, a lot of the work will be done in this country.
A BAe spokesman said: "We welcome this announcement by Germany and their commitment to Eurofighter and look forward to similar confirmation in the autumn."
All four countries will buy each some of the planes.
