BROOKFIELD residents joined forces for a summer fun day to raise community spirits.
The fete was organised by Brookfield Action in the Community, Preston which wants to unite the estate's residents and provide a weekly programme of events in a central community centre.
Chris Davis of the action group said: "We want to counteract social isolation, for instance for single mums and the elderly." The group runs a luncheon club, mother and toddler group, and a drop-in centre at the Ascension Church on Watling Street Road. Contact Chris on 01772 700336.
