AN INFORMATION centre to explain plans for the Stoneyholme and Daneshouse areas to residents will be officially opened tomorrow (Friday).
Daneshouse and Stoneyholme Area Renewal Information centre at 51 Daneshouse Road will have details of improvements planned by Burnley Council through the recently declared ten-year Housing Renewal Area and the three-year Capital Challenge programme.
The opening will be attended by Burnley MP Peter Pike, Celia Comrie and Ian Gordon from the Government Office north west as well as local councillors, residents and community representatives.
Visitors will have the chance to meet centre staff Neil Grahame, Barbara Wilkes and Brendon Chard.
"Many local residents are already finding the centre useful,'' said housing chairman Coun Rafique Malik.
He said staff would be producing regular newsletters to keep people in the area informed about proposed works.
"It will further strengthen liaison between the council and local people and we welcome residents popping in to find out more."
