A WATERING can which held treasured memories of a mother's love has been stolen by heartless thieves just days after her death.
Now, distraught daughter Pam Allott is appealing for the person who took the garden ornament - painted by her mother four years ago - to return it.
Pam, of Curlew Close, in Pleckgate, Blackburn, was heartbroken to find the watering can had vanished from her doorstep, the same week after she returned from the Manchester hospital where she had stayed by her mother's side for six weeks.
She said: "It was there on the Tuesday after my mother died, because I made a point of looking for it, but by Friday it had gone."
Pam added: "It was the only item I possessed which had my mother's individual touch and obviously holds tremendous sentimental value to me. But is worthless to anyone else. It seems like such a senseless theft.
"I couldn't care less who stole it - I just want it returned safely. The person who took it can either leave it somewhere where I will find it or drop it off at the Citizen office."
The watering can is dark green plastic and painted on one side with colourful lupin flowers - similar to canalia art seen on narrow boats.
Anyone who knows the whereabouts of the can can ring the Citizen Newsdesk anonymously on 671241, or leave it at our offices in High Street, Blackburn Boulevard.
