HOLIDAY gloom hit Haslingden with the shock news that 125 jobs would go at Holden Vale Manufacturing Company when it closed the following November.
Workers were stunned at news of the closure of the American-owned factory on Holcombe Road, which had provided jobs in the town since 1938.
The company made a variety of products, including lint from cotton waste.
