CONTRARY to your report (LET, July 12) the Bill to ban fox hunting is anything but doomed. For there are far many more than 100,000 people who will urge politicians to use their free vote against the hunt in the House of Commons on November 28.
It is vital that everyone realises the reason to ban hunting with hounds is that it is unjustifiably cruel, and it is obvious foxes, deer and other wild animals suffer considerably to provide amusement for a callous minority. We must rid our country of this barbaric sport.
This activity, which was acceptable in the past, no longer holds a place in modern society because the majority of the public will not tolerate it.
