THE search for a former Eccleston man who went missing from a Southport nursing home three weeks ago is being stepped up, thanks to a unique campaign.
As part of an initiative devised by the National Missing Persons Helpline in conjunction with superstore Iceland, the face of Alzheimers Disease sufferer Alan Latto is appearing on four-pint cartons of milk sold in all the frozen food giant's 770 store's.
Mr Latto (76) has not been since walking out of the Tudor Bank nursing home on June 27. The father-of-two had lived in Eccleston for 30 years before he and his wife Doreen moved to Southport 10 years ago.
He was last seen leaving the home, where he had lived for two years, wearing a light-green jumper, blue tie, dark trousers and slippers. He is considered by police and his family to be very vulnerable.
Mr Latto's son Ian was full of praise for the new campaign saying: "It's absolutely brilliant, it's another avenue for publicity. Someone, somewhere, must know where my father is. He may talk about needing money, but will be difficult to understand. We're frantically worried about him and continue to pray for his safe return."
