WE'VE a real treat in store for crown green fans.
For Star Masters finals night, this Saturday (July 19) has thrown up some cracking matches.
With a vast array of talent in action, home grown stars take on tough opposition from out of town.
And there's every chance a new name will appear on the coveted trophy.
Because of the eight survivors, only Terry Kelly, who won the competition in its first two years, has won it before.
But Terry faces stiff opposition from Burnley's Malcolm Wensley.
Terry will have to draw on all his experience of his home green at the Gerard Arms, Dentons Green, to pull through.
And John Daniels, the Greenalls, ace will have his hands full when he meets Garswood's Ron Belshaw, the man who ousted reigning champion Brian Simm.
Paul Gartside, who's home green is at the Brown Edge, is up against the in-form Harvey Birch, from Mere Brow.
Alan Shacklady, from Ormskirk, has already qualified for the final of the Greenalls classic at the Carr Mill, and he meets Carl Gregson from Skelmersdale.
With a purse of £400 up for grabs for the winner, it all adds up to a great night's action.
Play begins at the Gerard at 6pm.
