THE National Performance Tables for hospital trusts and community NHS Trusts have been released.
St Helens and Knowsley Community NHS Trust gained 5-star rankings in three categories out of a possible four, while St Helens and Knowsley Hospitals NHS Trust gained 18 5-star rankings and eight 4-star rankings from a possible 57.
Richard Watson, acting chief executive of St Helens and Knowsley Health Authority, said: "NHS staff at all levels can take a great deal of pride in achieving these performance figures after the most difficult winter that most of can remember with soaring emergency admissions.
"They have shown total dedication under severe pressure in maintaining a top quality service for patients on waiting lists and in meeting very demanding Patient's Charter standards. They have my warmest congratulations."
