AN influx of premiership-quality players to Burnley began this week as new boss Chris Waddle displayed his pulling power in the transfer market.
Leeds United midfielder Mark Ford signed for £275,000 after ex-England goalkeeper Chris Woods and Michael Williams arrived for free from Sheffield Wednesday. Waddle was also ready to bring in another defender yesterday (Wednesday).
The manager said he was signing players who would be able to compete in the first division as well as gain promotion from the second.
