EAST Lancashire's busiest holiday weekend of the year got off to a sodden start with torrential early morning rain - and a forecast of more to come.
The exodus of thousands from Blackburn, Accrington and Ribble Valley made it one of the heaviest traffic days at Manchester Airport and local rail and bus stations.
Those headed for the Costas looked most likely to find good weather.
