THE extra duty on fuel, imposed in the Budget, will cost the average driver an extra £60 a year. Echoing the words of the AA, these increases in fuel tax do nothing to help the environment - they just raise cash for the Treasury.
In a Budget that takes another £1 billion from drivers and talks of the long-term importance of investment, absolutely nothing has been said about investment to tackle the UK's transport chaos.
