MERCY crews from Lancashire Ambulance service will be taking to the canal to paddle for charity.
They will take part in a 5-day event in aid of the North West 'New Heart-New Start' appeal.
They will canoe the 127 miles along the Leeds Liverpool canal from from next Wednesday, to Sunday, passing through Brierfield and stopping at Withnell Fold on day three.
They plan to raise £2,000 for the transplant fund at Wythenshawe Hospital. Other competitors will include doctors, nurses, ambulance workers and transplant patients are all taking part in the sponsored event.
