CUSTOMERS of a newsagents which was hit by vandals two nights in a row have left a message for the culprits in case they decide to return.
A sign has been put up in the window of Redlam News, Blackburn, blasting the attacks which involved the window being smashed and petrol being used to set fire to wooden boards.
It says: "Whoever has done this disgraceful thing, we the ordinary people of Redlam despise you. Do you want us to have no shops? Or to live behind metal shutters? May God forgive your horrible ways and make you see that you are on your own in this. We have no part in it."
Nawab Khan, who runs the family business with his two son Nawaz and Naweed, was asked to display the notice by regular customers in an attempt to put an end to damage.
Mr Khan said: "I appreciate the support of my customers but I am afraid I am going to have to put metal shutters up. Smashing the window was bad enough but now they are playing with petrol, anything could happen. If the fire had spread somebody could have been seriously hurt."
Police are investigating the incidents which took place overnight on Thursday and Friday. Anybody with information should contact Blackburn police on 01254 51212.
