I AM searching for decendants of Alice Watson, born in Blackburn in 1889. Her married name was Roberts and she died in 1942.

She had a daughter Evelyn Roberts (Watson) and another Alice, whose married name, I think, was Sharples.

There was at least one son called Stanley (King) Roberts, married to Pearl and lived in Darwen and later moved down to London.

Evelyn married Thomas W Hession. They had two daughters, Eveline and Paula. Eveline's married name was Norse, but I can't remember Paula's married name. The last contact I had with them was in 1979 or early 1980.

These were my foster family and I would like to locate any relatives so that I may visit their graves. We trudged all over the old and new Darwen cemeteries in 1995, only finding the grave of Thomas W Hession. The Cemetery Board told me the plot was purchased by his wife, who lived at 58 Hannah Street, Darwen. The date of his death was June 8, 1968.

I have written many letters to various people in the Darwen district but to no avail.

In 1952, when we left the UK to come to Australia, the Hessions lived at 58 Redearth Road, Darwen. In 1990, we called at the house but there was no one at home, and when we returned in 1995, the house had been flattened.
