POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a hit and run accident which left a nine-year-old boy with a broken collarbone.
Kieron Kiyani was cycling in Lansdowne Street, Griffin Park, Blackburn, at 8pm on Sunday.
The back of a car caught the front wheel of Kieron's bike and knocked him off it. The driver did not stop.
Kieron's collarbone was broken, two of his teeth were smashed and he had a large bump on his head. Kieron's dad, Gary Kiyani, of Griffin Park Lodge, Cavendish Place, Blackburn, said: "He was very lucky not to be more seriously injured. But he was shaken up and upset that his bike was damaged. The driver did not stop."
Kieron was taken to Blackburn Infirmary for treatment and is still taking painkillers.
A spokesman for Blackburn police said inquiries were continuing into the accident.
