FIGHT injury victim Peter Webb is now back home after a life-saving operation to remove a blood clot from his brain.
Peter, 24, of Grane Street, Haslingden, collapsed some hours after being involved in a street brawl with another man.
His family sent for an ambulance and he was taken to Bury General Hospital and then transferred to North Manchester General Hospital, where the 90-minute emergency operation was carried out.
He remained in hospital from Sunday, July 13, until yesterday.
Members of his family were at his bedside throughout.
Peter lives with his father, Colin, who said: "He is feeling a lot better and is able to get about.
"But it will be a little time yet before he can return to work. He has been advised to take things easy for a while.''
Peter works as a charge hand for a company in Bacup.
He is keen on sports and plays pool and soccer.
He is a central defender for the Roebuck pub football club and was due to take over as captain at the start of the coming season.
Now he will have to support his team from the sidelines.
His father said: "It has been a very worrying time for us but thankfully because of the attention he received from the medical staff he is now very much better and back home.''
Peter is the second eldest of four brothers who all live in the Haslingden area.
Police inquiries are continuing into the Haslingden town centre incident, at 2am on July 13, that led to the injury.
