A COUPLE are appealing for the safe return of their daughter's wedding video.
A camera containing film of the ceremony and reception went missing as Michael and Maureen Sunderland prepared to leave their hotel on Monday. It is feared the £900 JVC camcorder was stolen.
"We're not really bothered about the camera but we do want to get the film returned because it's the only video record of the day we have," said Maureen, of Winewall, Colne.
"After a wonderful wedding and reception it was very upsetting to lose the camera and especially the film inside." Mrs Sunderland's daughter, Lynsey, married Stephen Walther at St Anne's Church, Fence, on Sunday before the wedding party moved on to the Higher Trapp Hotel, Simonstone, for the reception.
The following morning, Mr Sunderland put the camera in a hat box while he said goodbye to other guests but unfortunately drove away, leaving the box in the car park by mistake.
"He got back within 15 minutes but it had gone," said Maureen. "It was in a very distinctive box which no-one could have put in their car by accident. We've contacted more or less everyone and no-one has it."
The hotel is checking film from security cameras.
Meanwhile, anyone who has the film is asked to return it anonymously to the hotel which will pass it on to the family.
