THE Pilkington Rose Bowl could be on its way to the other side of the world!
For the first time in its history the competition has attracted golfers from abroad.
The contest attracts a top quality field of amateurs from all over the North West to the Grange Park Course.
But when this year's competition begins on Sunday, August 3, two members of the Malaysian Golf Association will be taking part.
First to tee off, at 10am, is Z. Sharriff, whose opponent is P. Kenyon, of the Hillside Club.
And 16 minutes later his compatriot, M. Bee, competes in a three-ball against D. Senior (Blackpool North Shore) and M. Bardie (Wilpshire).
Said tournament co-ordinator Noel Davies: "This is absolutely amazing and we are delighted.
"In the 15 years since the event started it's the first time we have had international competitors."
