IMPRESSIVE vital statistics proved to be the deciding factor in a Blackburn firm's stunning success.
One thing that isn't lean about Shapemaster Fitness, of Glenfield Park, is their profit margin - as proved in Granada's Flying Start enterprise competition.
The 28-strong workforce came second in the television challenge - and scooped a prize of £25,000, plus an extra £2,500 for drawing up the best business plan. The cash will be spent on developing a revolutionary 'cardio vision' screen on their latest exercise machines, giving people the choice of watching television, a video or their fitness programme.
Managing director David Winchester said he was now hoping to test Shapemaster products in the Australian market.
He added: "We're delighted to receive this recognition. Our strengths lie in the wide range of equipment we produce and the long list of European countries we export to."
Flying Start's first prize of £50,000 went to Welsh firm Camelot Corporation, which makes bouncy castles.
