A QUARTET of Tyldesley water polo players featured in Great Britain's tournament win in Loule, Portugal.

Philip Stout, Jonathan Stafford, Paul Cowburn and GB skipper Michael Cowburn played against teams from France, Sweden, Ireland, Switzerland, Andalusia and Portugal.

The lads are coached by Mike Short at Tyldesley Swimming & Waster Polo Club.

Meanwhile, Tyldesley beat Carlisle in the Northern Counties Grade 2 KO Competition with goals from Colin Bent 3, Paul Cowburn 2, Michael Cowburn 2, Andrew Pollard, Andrew Rigby, Jack Davidson and Stephen Davidson.

Also in the team: Andrew Topping (first half goalie), Simon Thomason (second half goalie), Scott Royle, Matthew Holden, Jonathan Stafford and Philip Stout.
