ONE of Tyldesley RU's longest active members has been rewarded by the County RFU for his devotion to the game with a Vice-Presidency of Lancashire.
Terry Alexander has been involved at Well Street in various capacities since making his playing debut back in 1952.
He taught at schools in Manchester and Bolton and has also been an enthusiastic member of the county scene, serving on many committees including finance and discipline.
The honour is the first to be bestowed on a Tyldesley member in the club's 117-year history.
CULCHETH RU is trying to set up a junior section. Youngsters aged 8-11 should attend training at Shaw Street on Thursdays (6-6.45pm).
Open age training continues Tuesdays and Thursdays (6.45pm). New players welcome.
ATHERTON RU have started training at Hesketh Fletcher School Field on Tuesdays and Thursdays (7pm).
They are looking for players, old and new, plus a senior coach. Call Martin Cleary on 01942-879294.
