COUNCIL estate children were to enjoy a fun day out as a peace offering from the BBC.
Residents on the Within Grove estate, Huncoat, were furious when film crews made part of the estate look like an IRA stronghold to film a thriller called Crossfire.
The BBC apologised for the upset and agreed to foot the bill for a day out for nearly 200 children at Alton Towers leisure park.
