POLICE are appealing to anyone who saw a robbery at a petrol station to come forward. The incident took place at 1.45pm on Monday, July 14.
The 29-year-old female shop assistant at the Abacus Service Station in Park Road, St Helens, spotted two male customers taking food from the refrigerator and putting it into a carrier bag.
She approached and challenged the men, telling them to put the food back into the fridge but one of the offenders turned, grabbed hold of her round the neck and threatened to harm her if she tried to stop.
As she struggled with the male the other offender carried on filling the carrier.
The two men then left the premises with a carrier bag containing four packets of bacon, eight blocks of cheese, four packets of ham and two packs of pasties, with a total value of about £25.
The male who grabbed the shop assistant is described as white, 5ft 7in to 5ft 8in tall, medium build with a skinhead haircut. He was wearing a black leather jacket, jeans, and a white crew neck T-shirt.
The second offender is described as white, 6ft tall, medium build with blond short hair. He was wearing black jeans, an orange/white checked shirt and a beige jacket.
