IT is a visit residents and staff at Lime House in Lowton have been praying for, and on Thursday their prayers were answered.
For they were honoured to receive the new Archbishop of Liverpool, the Most Rev. Patrick Kelly.
He visited the home on Newton Road after an invitation by The Nugent Care Society which provides long-term residential care at Lime House for 30 older people.
Ann Hillidge, Head of Home, said: "We only heard about the visit a couple of weeks ago, and everyone is really excited. Of course Lime House was officially opened in 1986 by the late Archbishop Worlock, but this will be the first chance we've had to get to know our new Archbishop."
As he toured the Home, Archbishop Kelly met a lively bunch of people with some fascinating hobbies, for among them is a lady darts player in her 70s and an accomplished artist of 88!
