LANCASTER council leader, Stanley Henig, has been appointed secretary of the ruling Labour group at the Local Government Association.
There are 300 councils affiliated to the association, with Labour making up the largest group.
Said Cllr Henig: "I'm delighted and honoured to have been chosen by Labour representatives from authorities all over the country to fulfil this important role."
