DON'T lay your life on the line was the message to East Lancashire youngsters from police concerned about an "alarming" increase in children risking their lives by playing on the county's motorways.
Motorway patrolmen said it was only a matter of time before a child was killed playing chicken or taking a short cut across lanes.
And British Rail warned that railways were deadly playgrounds.
