MIDWIFE from East Lancs was today celebrating her own special delivery after giving birth to triplets.
Hayley Dean, 35, from Accrington, was ecstatic following the birth of her triple bundle of joy.
They were said to be doing well in the hospital's neonatal unit.
Rosie Emily (4lb 13oz), Joseph Benjamin and Alexander James (both 5lb), were delivered by caesarean section at the Countess of Chester Hospital, 34 weeks into the pregnancy.
But the birth was tinged with sadness as it came almost a year to the day since the death of Hayley's mother Margaret Bridge, a receptionist at Peel House Medical Centre, Accrington.
Hayley and husband Colin married in October, 1995, at Stanhill Methodist Church, Oswaldtwistle. They underwent fertility treatment at a private hospital in London and the birth follows a successful first cycle of treatment.
Hayley moved from Manor Street, Accrington, in 1995 and lives near Mold in North Wales. The former pupil at St Christopher's RC High School, Accrington, has worked at Clitheroe Hospital and Burnley General where she underwent her midwifery training.
Her dad Joe, of Moleside Close, Accrington, said he was proud and delighted at the arrival the triplets.
