EAST Lancashire MP Janet Anderson was put onto the fast track to promotion when Labour deputy leader chose her as chief parliamentary aide.
Mrs Anderson's appointment just three months after being elected to the Commons was almost unprecedented. She was formerly secretary to Blackburn MPs Barbara Castle and Jack Straw and had also worked at Labour's London headquarters.
