THE £25,000 grant by Blackburn and Darwen Council to mosques for teaching youngsters their 'mother tongue' (LET, July 25) should be put into schools where everyone benefits and not just Asians.
My own grandchildren, born in Blackburn, have English as their first language, but they are paying to learn Arabic, because of their father's nationality.
These people are now British citizens and should accept our rules and not expect hand outs and pay for their own teachers to learn Urdu, Punjabi and Gujarati.
