A SEARCH has been launched to find four young people eager to go on the trip of a lifetime.
The Rotary organisation in Lancashire and Cumbria is looking for men and women to take part in a cultural and business exchange to Thailand.
Each year the organisation arranges a fact-finding trip for one of its members and a quartet of young professionals or business men and women.
The trip is financed by the Rotary organisation and seen as a highly prestigious project.
Rotary Clubs in the host country accommodate the team and give them a guided tour.
The visit to Thailand is due to take place next February and will last around five weeks.
Applicants have to fill in a detailed form before being considered for an interview. When the group gets back to Britain they will tour the North West talking to Rotary clubs about their trip.
Brian Layburn, of Blackburn West Rotary Club, led a similar team to Argentina last year.
He said: "The people who apply must be in employment and preferably in one of the professions.
"The aim is to give people a chance to discover what life is like in another country.
"The team will find out about the commerce and industry of Thailand and get an insight into how their occupation works in another country."
Mr Layburn added: "There is a lot of kudos attached to these trips. Those accepted will probably look back on the experience as a milestone in their career and life."
