EXPENSIVE designer clothes and sportswear are being targeted by washing line thieves in Rossendale.
People who peg out their top gear are warned to keep an eye on it following a spate of thefts from back gardens and yards.
In the latest incident a thief took clothes worth £269 from a line at a house on Prospect Hill, Haslingden.
Acting Det Sgt June Grice said: "We're asking people to make sure their washing is safe if they go out. It can be surprising how valuable a washing line of clothes is."
