BURGLARS stole 26,000 NAPPIES from a baby superstore.
They got in through a panel at the rear of the Mothercare World store on the Grimshaw Park trading estate, Blackburn, on Tuesday night.
Their haul of 300 packs worth £4,500 was mainly Huggies nappies, but they also got away with some Pampers.
The mass theft was discovered when staff returned to work on Wednesday morning.
Manager Sue Grime said: "We haven't had nappies stolen before."
It is the second break-in at the store in the last two months. Burglars got away with £3,000 worth of children's clothing eight weeks ago.
Mrs Grime said the store was taking measures to prevent it being targeted by thieves again.
Police are investigating the theft and witnesses should contact Blackburn police on 01254 51212.
