THE number of people caught drinking and driving in Lancashire was double the national average.
Twenty-eight per cent of drivers breath tested were over the legal limit, compared to a national average of 15 per cent.
Police tested 7,400 people in the county and 2,100 were positive - an average of 20 tests every day. The Lancashire figure was one of the highest in the country.
