IN response to Mr K Spencer's remarks in "Ducks were there first" (Letters, July 21) regarding the ducks on the Swallowfields estate at Rhodes Avenue, Blackburn, the ducks may have been on this earth before us, but they certainly were not on the Swallowfields estate before me.
The stagnant pond on the estate is man-made by Fairclough Builders who put the ducks there. The ducks have increased a hundredfold. Would Mr Spencer like to be woken up at 4.30am most mornings by ducks quacking?
Every time I open my front door at least ten ducks come running at me wanting to be fed and make a mess all over my doorstep and drive.
I would dearly like to grow water lilies on my pond, but the ducks wreak havoc both in my garden and the pond.
The ducks are a problem and the misery goes on. Please, estate managers, remove all the ducks and take them elsewhere where the duck lovers can enjoy them and we can live in peace.
