A MAN appeared in court this week accused of posing as a headmaster while making perverted phone calls to young boys - including a number from Bury.
David Kirkland, an accounts clerk at UMIST was arrested after police received more than 100 complaints, involving youngsters aged between 10 and 14, over three years.
Kirkland, a bachelor, who was allowed to keep his address secret, faced six specimen charges of harassment and making indecent and offensive calls.
He was bailed by Manchester City Magistrates to reappear in court on August 6.
